Council Elections 2005
savebishopspark is non-political and to that end we want to ensure that whichever party wins government in the forthcoming local elections, Bishops Park is not only improved for us but preserved for future generations.
Set for May 2005, these elections promise to be interesting. Previously a labour stronghold for twenty years, the balance of power appears to be shifting at Council HQ in King Street, Hammersmith. There is an increasing labour/conservative divide in the borough with labour controlling Hammersmith and the conservatives consolidating Fulham. There are several key marginal wards that will be hotly contested in May – one labour councillor currently holds her seat with 3 votes. In addition, LBHF has a conservative MP, Greg Hands who is determined to see in a Conservative council.
